Its algorithms connect workers with available temporary work posts in areas like sales, administrative tasks, events, and logistics.
“What we are doing is very special in France because we’re the only one doing on-demand staffing, which is very different from job boards and things like that,” said Amaury d’Everlange, cofounder and president of StaffMe.
The Paris-based company plans to further develop StaffMe’s presence in France.
“The money we raised is to extend [our business] in France, which is the second largest marketplace for temp staffing in the world after the US,” d’Everlange told us. Eventually it will look into internationalising, but the focus remains on France for now.
It currently has around 1,000 clients using StaffMe. Temp workers that sign up are self-employed freelancers that invoice and get paid via the service. The company takes a cut of the payment.
“We take a commission based on the time and the hourly rate invoiced by the freelancer. We take 20% commission on the fee of the freelancer,” explained d’Everlange.
